2XS Rocks has been Listener Supported since 2002, running ad-free on your voluntary donations - which is awesome! We spend a lot of time and money keeping the station running and those contributions make it possible, so a big thanks to all the Heroes Of Rock who have helped so far! Thanks to them, we have been able to ensure that more credible music is available to radio listeners. Importantly, our New Music artists are not 'ghetto-ised' in specialist shows, but played amongst established names which ensures increased credibility and exposure for them. We believe that music radio should be free at the point of use, so we don't charge a subscription fee to listen. In return, we ask you to help us stay independent by contributing to our running costs (which are primarily copyright payments). Maybe you could keep us going with a one-off or recurring donation via Paypal? You don't need a Paypal account to do this and just a £2 cup of coffee would be appreciated! The massively unfair royalty fees imposed on Internet Radio in the UK have constricted what would, by now, have been a viable, successful industry. Instead of paying an 'entry fee' and then a percentage of profits (as FM/DAB/AM stations do), we have to pay a fee for every listener who hears every song. The result is that the field is once again left open to corporates, and mainly the BBC with its £4 billion p.a. (yes, really!) income.
